Measure once. The band does the rest.

A flat cap does not hold on the way a blocked felt hat does. There is no fitted inner ring and no shaping to your skull — it stays on through the tension of the band around the opening. That is why the sizes here are ranges of head circumference, and why no style on this site is offered in a single size.

How to measure

1Take a soft tape measure. If you only have a rigid one, use a length of string and measure the string afterwards.
2Run it around your head just above the ears and across the widest part of the back of the skull.
3Keep it level all the way round and snug, not tight — one finger should not fit underneath.
4Read the number in centimetres. Take it twice; if the two readings differ, use the larger.

If your measurement falls between two ranges, take the larger one. Wool cloth relaxes with wear; it does not shrink back to a smaller opening.

Peaked caps — flat, newsboy, duckbill, ivy

Boinas — brimless

A boina holds by its knitted edge band, which stretches roughly 2 cm under wear. Two ranges cover the same span that four cover on a peaked cap.

Lined caps run smaller

A brushed or quilted interior takes roughly 0.5 cm off the internal circumference. If you measure at the top of a range, take the next range up. This applies to every style in the Lined & Winter line and to the lined boina.

Shape changes where it sits, not how tight it is

An ivy cap sits closer to the skull, a newsboy carries volume above the band, a duckbill throws its peak further forward. None of that changes the circumference you need — measure once and use the same range across shapes.

What we do not claim

We do not say a cap will fit everyone, will never lose its shape, or will fit any head in one size. Wool caps stretch with wear and settle into the head that wears them; that is a property of the cloth, not a guarantee.

Head measurements and your data

If you send us a head measurement through a form, it is used to answer that enquiry and nothing else. It is kept for a maximum of 12 months and then deleted. It is never used for profiling and never passed to an advertising network. Full privacy policy.
